time for a 2011 recap in pictures, aka my favorite...
I feel like I grew up a lot in 2011, although that’s probably not true. Regardless though, a lot changed for the much, much better, and 2011 left me feeling very blessed and thankful.
January 2011 was for working in the corporate world and applying to graduate school because I so hated working in the corporate world. It was also for joint birthday parties with Shanna!
February 2011 was...

I ate Tofu Shirataki Noodles. Here are my...
I’ve been eyeing this this Hungry Girl recipe for about a year now. It’s an 80 calorie fettucine alfredo recipe. Yes. 80 calories. For a full serving.
The reason it is so guilt-free is because it doesn’t involve real noodles, which quickly tack on hundreds of calories to any given recipe, but instead these fancy tofu noodle substitutes that I’ve NEVER been able to find...

online shopping for the sickies
It took me about an hour to call out of work today, because finding someone to cover for me was ridiculous. Everyone (myself included, as why I was calling out) has some variation of flu-like symptoms. If you like me, are currently sitting in sweats, Uggs, and a jacket and shivering with sickie-ness, online shop. It’s the chicken soup of today.
My favorite mints have released previews of...

mayjah white girl problems. brace yourself
Today I had a little appointment with an Apple Genius because my iPhone has been on le fritz, and to repair it he had to leave it in restore-mode for the day so for about 8 hours, it was just a piece of metal, unable to receive texts, calls, or anything else.
This measly 8-hours taught me the following about life without an iPhone:
-Whilst in a large, ridiculously over-crowded mall and you...

just made a yumalish gorgonzola dressing
So easy! So tasty! Make it (but for the love of God don’t count the calories) and love it.
Blend:
-1 cup sour cream
-1/2-1 cup Gorgonzola cheese crumbles
-zest and juice of 1 lemon
-4 strips of cooked bacon
so yummy, not a surprise considering the main ingredient is fat. oh well, tis the season! my dressing is going a top a crispy chopped salad- romaine, cucumbers, and red onions.

holiday (ish) salad!
If you (like me) have recently been told you need to prepare something to bring to Christmas/Christmas Eve lunch/dinner and want a quick and easy way out, here’s a yummy and semi-festive salad I made tonight for the fam.
You will only need:
-1 bag of spring mix -1/4 cup toasted almonds -1/2 cup dried cherries -1/2 cup dried cranberries -(handful?) roughly chopped fresh mint leaves...

it's the week of CHRISTMAS!
So, in honor of such a magical time, I’m (going to be trying) making all of my blog posts Christmas themed. I think as we get older it’s harder to feel “in the Christmas spirit” like we did when we were little kids, so this is my Christmas-y contribution to the blogosphere. Enjoy.
Or bear with me.

grocery list
My friend has an adorable and helpful health blog that I suggest you all check out. The other day she posted her favorite healthy foods to pick up at the grocery store. I took her list with me (well, via iPhone) last time I went and stocked up on some of her rec’s. I love her idea of sharing healthy eating ideas.. so I’m gonna do the same!
Here are my top 5 favorite...

healthy tuesday continued: the best winter pasta...
Excuse the title. But I do find this yummy dinner I made that delicious!
I really wanted a hearty, warm, comforting dinner tonight, so I basically wreaked havoc on the sale produce at my local grocery store, and this is what happened. Recipe (with pictures) below the cut!!
You will need: -1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil -1 cup of Pinot Grigio (or more for drinking!) -5 cloves of...

healthy tuesday
I had big plans to GYM IT today but then I found other things to do and 5:15 rolls around, and thanks to school-gym-holiday-hours, my gym closes at 6 PM this week. So I took this as a sign from the work-out gods to skip, but then I remembered this quote I probably read in Self or something “even 5 minutes of exercise is better than 0.” So I went. And did this 20 minute (!!) interval...
